Role Focus:

Design, build, and evolve agentic AI systems for production
Take AI-driven features from concept to production
Write and review high-quality production code across AI pipelines and services
Implement prompt engineering, tool use, memory, evaluation, and guardrails as engineering concerns
Design agent frameworks balancing autonomy, determinism, observability, and safety
Make architectural trade-offs across latency, cost, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability
Integrate and operate LLMs including model selection, fine-tuning, embeddings, retrieval, and inference optimization
Address real-world issues such as hallucinations, drift, prompt regressions, failure modes, and customer trust
Deploy and operate AI services across cloud platforms with secure enterprise integrations
Design scalable inference and orchestration architectures using containers, APIs, and distributed systems
Ensure platform is shippable, debuggable, and supportable
Act with founder-level ownership by identifying gaps and proposing solutions

Additional responsibilities:

Work alongside VP of Engineering, VP of AI, and product leadership to define and build core AI systems
Occasional business travel
Operate under enterprise constraints including security, compliance, and uptime
Operate in ambiguity and make decisions with incomplete information

Nice to have:

Contributions to open-source GenAI tooling or internal frameworks
Experience with supervised fine-tuning and parameter-efficient tuning methods (LoRA, QLoRA)
Experience with reinforcement learning (RLHF) and preference optimization (PPO, DPO, GRPO)
Experience deploying LLMs at scale with Kubernetes, model serving, and GPU optimization
