Role Focus: • Lead the design and implementation of systems that enables Optum to derive information from patient data in a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective manner • Analyze clinical data and determine the best designs on how to process this data • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code and specifications • Lead by example to deliver product quality, including agile SCRUM methodologies, unit tests, code reviews and engineering design specifications • Lead systems design to allow customers to effectively ingest and store patient-related data and for data scientists and engineers to access this data with ease • Recommend and make buy vs build trade-offs to accelerate data engineering as a core competency • Be a trusted technical advisor to management, internal stakeholders, and customers • Mentor and lead other engineers to reach their potential
