HackerRank is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join their team. The role involves building AI agents, automations, and platform capabilities to eliminate manual work across the company. The ideal candidate will have experience with software engineering, AI tools, and agents.

Location: Bengaluru East, Karnataka, India (Hybrid, Full-time)

Experience:

1-4 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems
Hands-on experience building with LLMs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) in production
Experience with structured evaluation pipelines for AI systems with metrics and regression detection

Role Focus: • Embed with internal teams to map workflows and identify bottlenecks • Scope, prototype, and ship AI agents and automations • Own agents end-to-end after launch • Design and build the shared AI Agents platform • Build evaluation harnesses • Author and maintain MCP connectors

Nice to have:

Experience with agentic frameworks
Hands-on experience authoring MCP servers or building tool connectors for AI agents
Experience with RAG pipelines grounded in structured data models
