Experience:

• 8-10 years of relevant work-related experience
• Expert level experience in applied artificial intelligence engineering
• Experience setting technical direction for agentic systems and leading design reviews
• Experience owning evaluation strategy and reliability practices for non-deterministic systems
• Strong AWS-first implementation experience
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving shift-left quality practices

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer or Data Sciences, Information Technology or similar fields
• or equivalent advanced level experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate team building and operating task-oriented agents with clear interfaces and SLOs
• Provide technical direction for design and productionization of retrieval/grounding pipelines
• Create, maintain, and review prompt engineering strategies and versioned prompt libraries
• Plan and oversee evaluation frameworks including functional, behavioral, safety, latency, and cost evaluations
• Provide oversight for security and compliance strategies including PII redaction and policy-as-code checks
• Identify and resolve optimization challenges for context size, caching, rerankers, model selection, and tool routing
• Act as technical interface for data engineering architecture including schemas, ETL, embedding jobs, and SLAs
• Investigate and approve integration strategies with runtime frameworks and enterprise systems
• Evaluate and ensure documentation standards including agent cards, runbooks, and playbooks
• Mentor AI engineers through coaching and training

Additional responsibilities:

• Ability to advise on translating user journeys into measurable agent behaviors
• Ability to advise on balancing innovation with stability in mission-critical AI infrastructure
• Strong conflict resolution, prioritization, and consensus-building skills for advising cross-functional leaders

Nice to have:

• Deep LLMOps/MLOps experience including datasets, evaluation pipelines, drift monitoring
• Cost/latency optimization and FinOps practices for GenAI workloads
• Experience leading cross-team architecture alignment and setting shared standards
• Experience with multi-agent architectures in production including orchestration, tool use, safety constraints
• Experience with AI Infrastructure using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code
